Hiking

Day 1: Arrival in Beaune
Beaune is considered one of the most beautiful cities in France with its Hôtel-Dieu recognizable at first glance by the whole world. To start your trip under the best auspices we propose you a visit of the Patriarches Pères & Fils winery with a self-guided tour and a free tasting of 10 Great Burgundy Wines!

Day 2: Beaune – Châteauneuf en Auxois – 35 km
The day will begin with a visit to the Hospices de Beaune, a medieval hospital foundation. The Hospices de Beaune is one of the most prestigious French historical monuments. Its flamboyant gothic architecture, its polychrome roofs and a renowned vineyard make it a jewel of Burgundy. The Hospices de Beaune is also famous for its exceptional wine estate, with 85% of its vineyards being Premier Crus and Grand Crus, which are auctioned on the third Sunday in November. The rest of your journey will still be under the sign of the vineyard! You will start with the Ouche Valley before crossing the Burgundy Canal and reaching your hotel located in an old village on the heights, Châteauneuf and its medieval castle.

Day 3 : Châteauneuf en Auxois – Semur en Auxois – 53 km
To start this new day, we suggest you to visit the Châteauneuf castle dating from the 12th century and which traces our rich, very rich history. You will ride back on the saddle to ride along the Burgundy canal to take you first to Pouilly-en-Auxois before reaching Semur en Auxois which keeps in its architecture the traces of the Middle Ages!

Day 4 : Semur en Auxois – Vézelay – 65 km
This day will take you through small bucolic roads to the village known for its cheese, Epoisse. Don’t miss to taste this famous cheese before taking the road to the high village of Vézelay, a Romanesque town located on the road to Santiago de Compostela classified by UNESCO.

Day 5 : Vézelay – Saulieu – 50 km or 59 km
You will leave this place of rest and meditation and cross the Morvan Regional Park to reach a village that is a must in French gastronomy, Saulieu, where you will spend the night.

Day 6 : Saulieu – Autun – 50 km or 59 km
Magnificent landscapes await you today as you follow the Ternin Valley which will take you through charming little villages such as Lucenay l’Evêque or Chissay en Morvan. The day’s stage ends in Autun, a village known for its Roman vestiges and which is classified as a “city of art and history”.

Day 7 : Autun – Beaune – 73 km
We offer you a day full of history with the visit of the Renaissance castle of Sully, a private castle in a green and serene setting. You will then cross the vineyards of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and then those of the Côte de Beaune famous worldwide for its white wines such as Puligny Montrachet or Meursault. You will then reach Beaune where you will spend the night.
