L9 – The Loire by bike from Angers to Le Croisic

Discover the sweetness of the Angevine along the last sections of the “Loire à vélo” tracks. Take the time to admire the landscapes of the Pays de la Loire, its vineyards before reaching the ocean at Saint Brévin and then joining the Croisic via the wild coast which offers wonderful panoramas.

Hiking

Day 1 : Arrival in Angers
The charming city of Angers is waiting for you! Take the time to visit its small streets and its superb castle known for the famous “Apocalypse” hanging on the initiative of the Duke of Anjou.

Day 2 : Angers – Montjean-sur-Loire – 37 km
You will leave today to discover the vineyards of the Anjou region via Savennière and its famous white wine. After a short stopover on the Ile de Chalonne in the centre of the Loire, you will reach your hotel in Montjean-sur-Loire.

Day 3 : Montjean-sur-Loire – Champtoceaux – 39 km
The wild landscapes along the Loire will conquer you as well as the charming little villages you pass through such as Saint Florent le Vieil. Your day trip ends in Champtoceaux where you will spend the night.

Day 4 : Champtoceaux – Nantes – 32 km
Nature adorns itself with its most beautiful colours for your greatest pleasure. You will cross this luxuriant nature to reach Nantes, the capital of the Pays de la Loire region.

Day 5 : Nantes – Saint-Brévin – 59 km
New landscapes open up to you to give you a taste of Brittany. You will pedal between marshes and countryside and finally enjoy the small beaches of Saint-Brévin.

Day 6 : St Brévin – Le Croisic – 53 km or 60 km
Today you will pass through the marshes of the Parc Régional Naturel de la Brière, which will offer you magnificent landscapes before joining the famous Guérande salt marshes. You will walk in the footsteps of our ancestors on the wild coast to reach Le Croisic and its small fishing port.

Day 7 : Le Croisic
End of the hike after breakfast.
